Brachial neuritis
Brachial neuritis
can cause pain, burning, unusual sensations, and weakness around the shoulder. The symptoms may also spread to the hands, arms, or chest.Brachial neuritis is caused by inflammation in the brachial plexus – the set of nerves running through the shoulder, neck, and upper back. These nerves are what facilitate feeling and movement in the shoulders, arms, and hands. The severe shoulder pain caused by the condition typically lasts a few days. Unfortunately, it may be replaced by a numb feeling, tingling, and weakness, which can last much longer. In some cases, you may have limited muscular control in the affected arm. It could take a few months to a few years for the arm to fully recover.
